Registered Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapists will work with wide variety of patients of all ages, in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation, and disabilities. Massage Therapists use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy to combine different techniques, promote health and harmony as well as treat pain. Therapeutic massage is designed to release tension, restore balance, and promote physical well-being.
Swedish Massage: Swedish Massage is the most common and best-known type of massage. If you don't receive a massage often or it's your first time at a spa, Swedish massage is the best place to start. It is slow and gentle, and strokes the muscles and tissues with pressure that varies from light to medium or firm to promote relaxation.
Deep Tissue Massage: Deep Tissue Massage is an intense massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of the muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pains, such as a stiff neck and shoulder, lower back pain, leg muscle tightness etc. It uses slow, deep pressure which is designed to relieve concentrated muscles and the fascia. (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).
Pregnancy Massage: Carrying a baby inside changes the body’s center of gravity and puts a lot of stress on the neck, shoulders and lower back muscles. Prenatal Massage shares many of the goals of regular massage, to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and benefit mothers-to-be during pregnancy. Pillows and cushions are used to enhance support for the mother and baby to share in the relaxing moment.
Hot stone Massage: Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses heated stones as an extension of their own hands. The direct heat from the stones alleviates minor aches and pains and enhances the feelings of relaxation and peace.
Reflexology: Reflexology is a focused pressure technique, usually directed at the hands, feet or ears. It is based on the theory that there are zones of reflexes to specific organs, glands and body parts. Stimulating those points with finger pressure promotes health in those organs and glands via the body's energetic pathways.
Sports Massage: The purpose of sports massage is to enhance the athlete’s preparation for, recovery from training or competition. It focuses on stretching tight muscles and stimulating inactive muscles, and improving soft tissue conditions. It is one of the most efficient ways to prevent sports injuries during training or competition.
Back, Neck and Shoulder pain
Acute or chronic back pain from long hours at the desk, driving, sleeping patterns, postures, or a previous injury can be managed with Swedish massage techniques which will help alleviate discomfort and promote body awareness. Therapists will concentrate the technique on the back to relieve tension and promote deep relaxation in the tissues and muscles in the targeted area.

Relaxation Massage Therapy:
Relaxation massage is a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes to help you relax. The massage therapist will move at a slower pace and use lighter pressure. In a relaxation massage, there is less emphasis on working out chronic underlying muscle tension -- the adhesions or "knots" and muscle restrictions in the muscle tissue.
